Wang Yancheng: Luce energia infinito

As the sacred art sanctuary housing  Michelangelo's 'David', the Florence Academy of Fine Arts Museum has broken its century-old tradition to open its doors to a living artist. The opening ceremony was attended by representatives from the Italian Ministry of Culture, directors of art museums across the globe, and heavyweights in the international art community. Three specially created works for the exhibition, along with 15 masterpieces from previous years, are displayed along the exhibition route, forming a spiritual dialogue spanning 500 years with Michelangelo's 'David'.

Hailed as 'the magician who removed the horizon', Wang Yancheng abandons figuration in his works, transforming colors and lines into carriers of energy. Drawing inspiration from Michelangelo's 'Prisoners' series, his pieces feature rich, layered textures resembling geological stratifications and flowing colors evocative of cosmic cyclones. Infused with the Eastern philosophical concept of ¡°vital rhythm¡± from traditional Chinese landscape painting, while integrating the heritage of Western abstract art and the cosmic vision of quantum physics, his creations are praised by curators as ¡°spiritual meditations of color¡±.

A recipient of the Commander of the Order of Arts and Letters of France and an honorary academician of the Florence Academy of Fine Arts, Wang Yancheng acts as a ¡°cultural bridge-builder¡±, translating Taoist and Buddhist philosophies into a universally understood artistic language. More than a cultural tribute to the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Italy, this exhibition serves as a vivid showcase of Chinese culture going global, fostering in-depth dialogue between diverse civilizations through the resonance of colors and energy.
